Specialist insurance provider, Hotspot Cover, has partnered with the Travel Risk & Incident Prevention (TRIP) Group, the world’s leading travel risk management membership organisation. In an exclusive deal, which will see Hotspot Cover become the official insurance partner of the TRIP Group, the two companies seek to make travel safer and more accessible.

Hotspot Cover is a specialist travel insurance that is designed for individuals and groups travelling to the high risk and hostile territorial regions across the world. It includes Covid 19, war and terrorism cover and for areas where the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) or local authority equivalent or the World Health Organisation (WHO) have “advised against travel” and which are excluded on most travel insurance policies.

They provide an online platform to purchase comprehensive insurance which gives peace of mind before embarking on any hazardous travel – all available within minutes from quote to purchase. In partnership with the Lloyd’s of London market, they have developed a completely unique underwriting model that allows customers to purchase a niche policy with a minimum of fuss and that matches the needs and duty of care obligations at a highly competitive price.

Speaking about the partnership, Chief Executive of the TRIP Group, Lloyd Figgins said, “Hotspot Cover provides a great range of medical travel insurance and emergency assistance to those working in the widest variety of occupations- from business travellers, front line journalists and NGOs to engineers and charity workers; anyone in fact travelling “to and from” almost anywhere in the world. This aligns very well with the needs of TRIP Group members, which is why we’re delighted to be working with them.”

The TRIP Group specialises in travel risk management and delivers high-quality, educational events and training courses, focussing on those operating or travelling overseas. They provide travel safety and security insights and have an impressive array of high-profile names on their expert advisory board. Director of Hotspot Cover, Mark Butler, said of the partnership, “TRIP Group members often need to travel to the higher risk parts of the world. Hotspot Cover gives benefits that includes Covid 19, crisis response, political and natural disaster evacuation and kidnap and ransom cover can also be added as an optional coverage. “

Lloyd Figgins went on to say, “by working together with Hotspot Cover the TRIP Group are able to better service the requirements of our members and partners. We have secured great rates for our members. Ultimately, this partnership will help protect people and offer an additional layer of security, wherever they are travelling.”

Hotspot Cover has been tailored and designed in consultation with leading international travel and medical insurance experts and professionals operating on the frontline in the field of global travel risk management, safety and personal security. Individual customers now have the ability to obtain extreme-risk travel coverage that historically has only been available through the Lloyd’s market for big corporations or at a very high cost.Hotspot Cover is a licensed insurer and regulated by the Guernsey Financial Services Commission (GFSC) and is fully supported by the Lloyd’s insurance market.

Hotspot’s ability to recognise the needs for those operating challenging environments makes the partnership with the TRIP Group an obvious one. Mark Butler said, “The need for effective travel risk management has never been greater, the TRIP Group are experts in this field, so we’re very pleased to be partnering with them and allowing those who travel to stay one step ahead of risk.”
